It was seven years ago now that one of my coolest friends, Clare Evans, nudged me with her very pointy elbow and said,
"Kat, please, you need to get a blog. The world neeeeeeds this."
"Er, but what would I have to show?", I shrugged. "There are so many other awesome baking blogs out there and besides, I don't even measure my ingredients ...I'm just a hobby baker!"
Fast forward to this day in 2015, seven years later and baking is still my number one hobby and well, I STILL don't accurately measure my ingredients (somewhere in the world, a French pastry chef is crying). What has surprised me though is that during this time, I seem to have baked thousands of sweet treats for my friends, family and I'm proud to say, a hefty chunk of Sydney! It's obvious I can't shake the lure of 'The Cake Life' and so I think it's finally time to document my baking adventures, for real now.
Much in the same way that the tips, tricks, food philosophies and of course, recipes, of other fantastic chefs and bakers, inspired me to crack out the whisk and create something special for those I love, I hope this page adds not only to your baking arsenal but inspires you to create something nice, for somebody nice.
Go ahead, bake someone's day!
Yours in uncertain quantities of buttermilk,
Kat Sabbath xo
